The Sony Bravia XBR KDL-52XBR9 – The People’s Choice Of HDTV This Christmas!
17th November 2009
The Sony Bravia XBR KDL-52XBR9 features great picture quality and a powerful new slick design, with an impressively thin frame. It’s also known for its many added gadgets, with a number of built-in interactive add-ons.
Simply put, you can’t consider yourself a gadget-freak unless you’ve handled this set’s streaming capabilities and Yahoo Widgets.
WARNING!! All the extra features and slick design come with a price – The Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR9 is more expensive than a number of its rivals, so only buy this HDTV if you’re serious about your gadgets!
At the time of writing, the Sony Bravia XBR KDL-52XBR9 is number 1 on the TV bestseller’s list on Amazon

The KDL-XBR9’s picture quality competes well with 2009’s best conventional LCDs. As well has having deep blacks for those dark scenes in those horror movies we know and love, it sports a 240Hz refresh rate, giving excellent motion resolution for watching sports and also great for action scenes. If you’re a boxing or martial-arts fan, you can actually see those kicks and punches as opposed to a blur that you make sense of after the opponent gets knocked out.
Despite a reputation for excellent performance in High Definition technology, Sony’s HDTVs have lately been known to be bulkier than its rivals, with ast year’s models – the KDL-52XBR6 and KDL-52XBR7 sporting a rather ugly speaker along the bottom and thick frame all around.
The XBR9 is a sharp turn-around from this trend with hidden speakers and a thin, professional-looking frame that’s the same size all the way round.
It’s as if Sony finally realised that as well as amazing picture quality and easy useablity, we TV-owners want something that looks impressingly high-tech mounted on our living-room walls.
